morning tea with the Kleinbards
I've lived about 20 minutes south of Washington DC (in Northern Virginia) for over 11 years and I'm still completely infatuated, probably more than ever, with the history and architecture in the district! My recent work with Stroll magazine has brought me to stunning historical homes across Cleveland Park and the Palisades- and met with the equally wonderful inhibitors of these homes. Spending time with your families in locations and situations where you feel the most- what a dream.
If your family loves roller skating in the park- lets do your family photos there! Fishing and skipping rocks by the pond? Adorable family photos. If you hang out in your backyard with popsicles and the sprinkler on- ideal family photos there. Make-believe play time and tea on the kitchen counter? PERFECT. Lets romanticize your day to day and create dreamy images that help you feel this stage of life once its passed. Your photos can (and should) be more than just a greeting card on the fridge- they are meant to be nostalgia and sweet memories...preferably in a gorgeous book on the coffee table, or even printed in 90's 3x5 albums if thats your jam! Hold these memories in your hands and pass them on 🥹 ❤️
Now as I wax poetic about my ideal photoshoot situation, meet the sweetest example- The Kleinbards! The girls showed me their favorite plants in the yard, which led us to mom's favorite oak tree, which led us to Frog and Toad in the sitting room, tea to calm some inevitable photoshoot feelings, and dress up in their dreamy bedrooms. This was a morning beautifully spent, and I would love nothing more than to capture your family's memories in a similar fashion with you.
